Hello PreAP, We have been studying the concept of similar figures. In this weeks blog, answer the following questions in complete sentences and in a complete paragraph. 1. What are the rules for similar figures? 2. Are the figures to the left in the picture similar? 3. How do you know? This post is due Friday, September 25, 2015 |

The rules for similar figures are: Step 1) Find out if the corresponding angles are equal. Step 2) Find out if the corresponding sides are proportional. The last and final step is Step 3) Set up a ratio to determine whether the sides are proportional. The figures are similar because they have the same angles. The height of the tree is 44ft.These as ratios are 5.5:3 and 44:24.5.5*8=44, 3*8=24. Therefore the sides are the proportional so this figure is similar

1. The rules are that the figures are the same size or not, all corresponding angles must be congruent, the sizes must be proportional then you must set up a ratio. 2. yes. 3.i know because once you set up the ratio you get 132/3 which equals 44 ft. Making it h = 44 ft.
